Dr. Amy Carter has a general private practice providing individual therapy for adults. Her areas of interest include family of origin concerns, the treatment of trauma, mood disorders, the connection between spirituality and psychology, and the use of creativity and art to promote psychological health and well-being. Dr. Carter has completed extensive post graduate training in the treatment of trauma and training in spiritual direction. Her approach to treatment employs a strengths-based perspective using cognitive, dynamic and behavioral interventions. Treatment focuses on understanding the meaning and dynamic underpinnings of symptoms, as well as making behavioral change. Dr. Carter completed her Ph.D. at the University of Illinois.
Patrizia is a Licensed Professional Counselor with ten years of experience in mental health. She specializes in trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety and depression. She works with children, adolescents, men and women.
She understands that life does not come with a users' manual and that there are times that one may feel overcome by life. If your body gets sick, you get help because you understand that you need help to heal. Your emotional health is no different. Experiencing difficulties relating to the people around you may interfere with your ability to function and you may need help sorting through those emotions.
