“Every life is a piece of art, put together with all means available.” – Pierre Janet Hayley is a Virginia Beach native who received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Old Dominion University. During her graduate studies, she completed her practicum and internship at Beach Counseling while working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, academic underachievement, low self-esteem, and relationship/social issues.
She utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy that explores the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions to gain a better understanding of the self and cope with the challenging times of life. She believes in a collaborative therapeutic relationship and strives to empower clients towards positive changes in their lives. She provides a safe space for individuals to explore and express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. Everyone needs to be heard, and Hayley believes in providing the space and coping skills to assist clients in better understanding themselves so that they can navigate both the challenges and successes of life.
